<p>A quick-disconnect system (27) for selectively connecting a slurry tank to a fluid supply line includes a first valve (70/72) on the slurry tank (20) and a second valve (132/137) in the supply line fitting (118). Each of the valves includes a piston (70/136) having a tapered neck (82). Each such piston slides within a cylinder (72/132) having fluid passages (112, 114, 116) extending through the walls of the cylinder, and each cylinder is received within a valve body (36). A biasing spring (74, 134) ordinarily advances the pistons to cause enlarged side wall portions (80) of the pistons to seal the fluid passages (112, 114, 116) that extend through the cylinders. As each piston retracts, the enlarged side wall portions (80) of the pistons slide past the fluid passages and are removed from the abrasive fluid flow path.</p> |
