The clamp consists of a central pivot, a jaw (10), and a housing (11) which turns about the pivot. A return spring (13) is located inside the housing and presses against the pivot to return the housing to a central position. It also has an asymmetrical connecting mechanism (23,25) between the housing, the pivot and the spring. The pivot has a forward thrust face. The spring has a counter thrust element to interact with it, equipped with two asymmetrical thrust edges. Alternatively, the spring interacts with the pivot via a rocker or piston with a projecting key which has a thrust face to interact with the pivot's edges.
