PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compression coder scrambling image coded data and the expansion reproduction device descrambling output data from the coder. SOLUTION: In the case of storing coded image data sent from a variable coding circuit 220 to a storage circuit 222a, a control circuit 242 of scrambling compression coder generates a control signal to be written sequentially at a slice position on a screen and gives it to the storage circuit 222a, and when scrambling is made based on the prescribed scramble system, the control circuit 242 generates a control signal to read the data sequentially on a different slice position from that at write and gives the signal to the storage circuit 222a, and the image data read by the control signal and fed to a multiplexer function section of a multiplexer circuit 222 are multiplexed at a prescribed position by an output data form of the moving picture experts group(MPEG) 2. Then information denoting slice positions before and after scrambling is generated and the generated information is fed to the multiplexer function section as control data and multiplexed at a prescribed position of the output data form of the MPEG 2. |
