PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a whole lens system compact while making a view angle and eye relief sufficient and improving various aberration in an eyepiece of three groups six sheets by satisfying a given conditional expression. SOLUTION: A first group G1 consists of a positive meniscus lens L1 turning a concave surface to an objective side, and a second group G2 consists of a biconcave lens L2 turning the surface with strong curvature to an eye side, and a third group G3 is constituted so that four pieces of lenses of biconvex lenses L3 , L4 turning the surface with the strong curvature to the eye side, the biconcave lens L5 turning the surface with the strong curvature to the objective side and a flat convex lens L6 turning a convex surface to the objective side are arranged in this order. The lenses L4 and L5 constitute a joint lens. Further, when focal distances of the G1-G3 are defined respectively f1 -f3 , the focal distance of the whole system is f and Abbe numbers of the lenses having positive and negative diffraction force areν1 ,ν2 , the whole system is constituted so as to be satisfied with the conditional expression 2.0
