摘要 PURPOSE:To make it possible to uniformly cool each part of a cylinder liner to eliminate thermal expansion differential by fitting the cylinder liner into a sleeve fitted into a cylinder, and forming a liquid passage consisting of many circumferential grooves and axial grooves between the cylinder liner and the sleeve. CONSTITUTION:A cylinder head 10 is fixed through a head gascket 4 to a cylinder body 1. A metal sleeve 2 is fitted into a cylinder 11 formed in the cylinder body 1, and a cylinder liner 3 is fitted within the inner peripheral surface of the sleeve 2. Further, many circumferential grooves 23 and many lateral grooves (not shown) respectively intersecting the circumferential grooves 23 are formed on the inner peripheral surface of the sleeve 2, and a liquid passage 12 is formed between the sleeve and the cylinder liner 3. Each circumferential grooves 23 is formed in the upper part of the sleeve 2 more than in the lower part. As a result, the cylinder liner 3 is cooled uniformly over its overall surface, and thereby the thermal expansion differential between the cylinder liner and the sleeve 2 can be restricted.
