The sliver can has carrier grips (14a,14b) to move the can base located within the edge of the can contour. The carrier (14a,14b) shape and the width of their guides (11a,11b) are set to give a shaped fit with the can base (9) on the insertion movement direction (19a,19b) of the manipulators (12a,12b) into the can (2) and to transmit at least the upwards movement (17a,17b) of the manipulators (12a,12b) to the can base (9).
