The coaxial plug connector has at least one cylindrical contact member (1), which is provided with an annular groove (3). A contact spring strip (6) divided into spring laminates by axial slits is inserted into the annular groove (3). In the connected state, the spring strip (6) elastically contacts the cladding surface of a counter contact member (2) which telescopically engages one of the contact members (1). An axial groove type cut (5) is formed in one of the annular groove side walls (4). An edge (7) of the contact spring strip (6) can be inserted into the groove cut (5). Preferably the width of the contact spring strip is selected to be greater than the width of the annular groove (3). The axial width of the groove and the width of the spring strip may be selected such that the spring strip holds itself in the annular groove.
