Engraving arrangement adjustment method for print cylinder

The engraving method includes the step of determining a number of volumes by using an image of an engraved surface area, whereby the number of the volumes corresponds to a number of cross-section volume layers of an engraved surface which is engraved by the engraving arrangement. The number of volumes are added to form a total volume, and the engraving arrangement is adjusted in response to the total volume. A shape of the engraved surface is preferably determined to determine the number of volumes.
