Pretensioned tubular bicycle components

The components are e.g. handlebars, seat pillars, etc. At least one traction element (3) extends in the interior of the tubular component (1), to pretension it in axial direction. The element is a steel cable or similar flexible part, or a spring, with an outer diameter corresponding approximately to the internal diameter of the tube. Distance pieces located in any bends within the tubes maintain the traction element approximately in the tube centre.
