Vehicle windscreen wiper system

The motorised windscreen wiper system has a two-speed motor and a device to ascertain the angular position of the wiper arm and thus its proximity to the reversing position at the end of its travel. There is also a device to reduce the motor set point speed. The amount of speed reduction depends on the original set point speed and is larger for higher speeds. Speed reduction only takes place for one of the two motor speeds. The motor is a three brush DC motor, one brush (1) being earthed, the other two (3,4) being for the two speeds. In the high speed circuit is a controlled resistance (7), being a normal resistance bridged by a switch (8).
