The system has a portable identification or ID unit (1) with control elements and a stationary evaluation unit for identifying coded signals from the ID unit with a controller for the central locking system and immobiliser. A holder for the ID unit inside the vehicle has a switching device operated by the ID unit and a receiver unit connected to a vehicle system. The switching device is mounted in the holder (2) so that it is directly actuated by correctly positioning the ID unit (1) in the holder. The vehicle system is set in operation by actuating a control element (4) associated with the ID unit.
