Slotting machine for plastic pipes used in e.g. filtration or drainage

This new equipment cuts slots into plastic pipes using rotary milling cutters (6). There is a common drive (5) which through couplings, achieves both rotation and feed of the cutters. The new development is the use of hydraulic coupling between the linear feed motion and the rotary drive of the cutter. Also claimed is the method of control. The hydraulic accumulator is opened only at the lower dead point, allowing more hydraulic fluid to enter the cylinder, than is required to equalise leakage losses.
