PURPOSE:To smoothly change the rotating speed of an engine by setting the rotating speed to switch valve timing so as to lessen the torque fluctuation of the engine generated when the valve timing is switching according to the octane value of fuel. CONSTITUTION:An octane value sensor 43 is connected together with a revolution sensor 40, etc., to a microcomputer 41. The microcomputer 41 acts also as a means for setting the switching circuit to set the rotating speed to switch the valve timing so as to lessen the torque fluctuation of the engine generated when the valve timing is switched according to the octane value of fuel. The generation of a torque loss at the time of switching the valve timing is prevented even when the octane value of the used fuel varies. In addition, the rotating speed of the engine is smoothly changed. |
