PROCESS AND DEVICE FOR PRODUCING A PIPE PRESS-FITTED CONNECTION

A process is disclosed for producing a pipe press-fitted connection which consists of a press-fitting with a stop and a smooth-ended pipe section which can be pressed therein. Once the pipe section is cut, the cut end is trimmed and if required the pipe protection layer is removed. The thus prepared pipe end is inserted into the press-fitting up to the stop and then pressed by a pressing tool with individual pressing jaws which positively and formfittingly engage the pipe section inserted therein to form a non-releasable and tight pipe connection. The individual pressing jaws complete each other towards their pressing ends, forming a closed pressing chamber. A characteristic stamping is plastically made during pressing in the contact area between at least one pressing jaw and the outer surface of the pressfitting. The depth of the stamping depends on the quality of the pressing.
