The problem underlying the invention is how to record audio data in a way that ensures that the data are an actual reproduction of an acoustic signal sequence (for example a speech), i.e. that they have not been manipulated or otherwise synthetically generated. To obtain an authentic audio recording, the whole process, from the acoustic signal up to the recorded digital data, must be reproducible, irrevocable and demonstrable. This is obtained with the disclosed process in that the processes of conversion of the acoustic signal sequence into analogue electric signals, of conversion of the analogue electric signals into digital electric signals and of calculation of a digital signature based on the digital data are coupled together in such a way by a device as illustrated in figure 1 that the separation of these processes is not possible without subsequently recognisable manipulations of the device. According to this process, a digital signature is calculated based on the digitised audio data before recording and the digital signature is stored together with the digital audio data on an audio recording medium. The process of converting the acoustic signals into digital electric signals and the process of calculating the digital signature based on the digital audio data is carried out in a device (1) in such a way that these processes can only be separated by manipulating the device in a subsequently detectable manner. The signature also makes it possible to put on record the acoustic information in its correct sequence and totality in an unfalsifiable manner. |
