ALUMINUM SUPPORT FOR LITHOGRAPHIC PRINTING PLATE AND MANUFACTURE THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum support for a lithographic printing plate with an optimal surface shape as a support for a lithographic printing plate and a method for manufacturing the aluminum support. SOLUTION: This aluminum support for a lithographic printing plate is made of a JIS1100 material or a JIS3004 material with a sanded pattern rough and undulating surface which comprises large waves with an average pitch of 5-30μm and honeycomb pits with an average diameter of 0.1-3μm formed in an overlapping fashion. In addition, the average surface roughness sought by measurement with an atomic force microscope is 0.35-1.0μm. Further, the ratio of a gradient of 30 deg. or more in the surface gradient distribution sought by measurement with the atomic force microscope is 5-40%.
