PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake device by which braking force is quickly increased when strong braking is operated by a driver and braking performance is improved without any burden on the driver. SOLUTION: As a driver presses a brake pedal strongly when the driver wants to stop quickly, a stop switch is turned on ('YES' in S2000), deceleration of a wheel is increased above the predetermined value ('YES' in S3000). In this time, a pump is driven by means of an electronic controlling unit ECU, brake fluid is fed from a master cylinder side to a wheel cylinder side, and a higher intensified pressure than that based on pressing of a brake pedal is generated in the wheel cylinder (S4000). Therefore, a braking force can be increased at a higher speed than that of a braking operation by a driver without any burden on the driver, so that a braking force can be increased rapidly when strong braking is carried out, and braking performance can be improved. |
