PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an ink cartridge to maintain an initial quality of the cartridge to the cartridge replacement period by inserting in a sealed manner a spacer capable of forming an ink filled foam and atmospheric releasing path in a pack formed with a nonpermeable sheet material such as gas barrier film. SOLUTION: In a pack 11 formed with a paper material or the like laminated with a film or plastic material and so forth having gas barrier characteristics, a spacer 12 and foam 13 occluded with ink are filled in a sealed manner in order to form a cartridge 1. In supplying ink in the ink cartridge to the printer head, the ink cartridge 1 is mounted in a mounting chamber 104 from the opening part of a cartridge mounting part 102 in the direction indicated by arrow A. Also, by pulling out the ink cartridge 1 from the mounting chamber 104 in the direction shown by arrow A', the replacement of the cartridge 1 can be done readily. |
