Apparatus for preventing the drowsy traveling according to the present invention consists of the CCD camera(2) imaging the eyes of a driver reflected in the mirror(1), the controller(3) determining whether the driver is drowsy and simultaneously reading the image of the CCD camera(2) and determining whether the itself car is moving, the tracking driver(4) controlling the angle of the mirror(1) by means of the signal from the controller(3), the motor(5) controlling the angle of mirror(1), and the alarm(6). Method according to the present invention consists of step (S1) determines if the speed of the itself car is normal speed so as to, when the speed of the itself car is not normal, analyzes the image signal from the CCD camera, step determining if the mirror(1) turn toward the eyes of a driver during the analysis of the image signal in the first step(S1) and then adjusting the angle of the mirror(1) if the mirror(1) is not faced the eyes of a driver, step comparing and analyzing the present position of the driver's eyes with the normal condition after analysis of the present movement of a driver, step operating the alarm(6) if a driver is drowsy.
