PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject tow and cut wool therefrom, and to provide a method and apparatus for producing the tow and cut wool, so designed that there occur no such troubles, even if a tow joint is directly passed through a cutting device, as tow tension falling resulting in improperly longer cut length, malopening in the post-process and/or malpassage through a card, opening operation is facilitated, and there appear no flaws in nonwoven fabrics or spun yarns as the final products. SOLUTION: This tow is such one that the cut ends of the respective crimped synthetic fiber tows 2 are mutually interlaced by needle punching and jointed together. The cut wool is obtained by cutting the tow to a specified length. |
