In operative condition, the disclosed power transmission chain has at least one chain section curved in a plane of curvature and at least one most rectilinear chain section. The chain is composed of a plurality of links (1) overlapping in longitudinal direction of the chain, each of the links (1) being provided with at least one opening (3) and a plurality of pins (2). Each of the pins (2) extends transversely to the longitudinal direction through the openings (3) of at least two successive, overlapping links (1). By providing the chain with stops (4, 5) for precluding successive overlapping links (1) from pivoting beyond the most rectilinear condition when pivoting relative to each other from the curved condition towards the most rectilinear condition, a chain is obtained of which the most rectilinear ends oscillate substantially less when in operation, so noise emissions and wear of the chain are substantially reduced. |
