The device (1) is installed between an engine (2) and a transmission (3), and has a case which stores an input (10) and an output (11) unit. The input unit inputs power which is supplied by the engine. The output unit is connected to the transmission. A clutch apparatus (13) provided in the transmission, switches the power transmission path of an epicyclic gearing (12) of the transmission. The epicyclic gearing which engages with a sun gear (31) has an inner gear (33). The inner gear engages with a carrier (34) which supports the epicyclic gearing. The epicyclic gearing changes the speed of the engine and transmits a rotational force from the input unit to the output unit of the transmission.
