The device has a wiper blade (4) in a bearing sleeve (1), axially secured by a securing ring (11). A second spring plate (16) is positioned between the securing ring and the second end face (6) of the bearing sleeve, respectively between ring and a stop plate (15). A first spring plate (13) between crank (7) and sleeve face, and the second spring plate, are preloaded in axial direction of the wiper shaft. Both spring plates have the same spring characteristics, and the sum of these corresponds to the single spring plate used in a conventional wiper bearing of comparable size.
