The blinds have a winding drum (3) on which the shutter (2) is rolled. The shutter is made up of strips (4) hinged one with the other in a way so that they are telescopic, which ensures that the shutter completely shuts out the light. A number of the strips have, on their inner (17) or outer (18) surfaces, gripping devices (16) which limit or prevent sliding between the strips with which they are in contact as the shutter is wound around the drum. The gripping devices are made of pads of flexible material such as elastomer or other synthetic material affixed to the inner or outer edges of the strips at the sides towards the lower edge of the strips. The pads may also be ridged or corrugated.
