<p>The beverage brewer (10) comprises an upper brewing chamber (11) to receive hot water and beverage material and a open lower chamber (12). A movable flexible filter tape (16) is mounted and clamped between the upper and lower chambers. A reciprocable piston in the lower chamber forces air through the filter into the upper chamber and then provides negative pressure to withdraw brewed beverage through the filter into the lower chamber which is then expelled through holes (14) by gravity into the awaiting cup. The device separating and sealing the upper and lower chambers unclamps the filter. The piston is driven by a connecting rod which has one end pivotally connected to it, a crank arm pivotally connected to the other end, a driving shaft connected to the crank arm, and a drive connected to the driving shaft. A device moves the filter tape when it is unclamped and includes a spring as bias connected to one end of the tape, and a filter tape pulling device attached to the other end.</p> |
