PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position setting device, a position setting method and a defected printing inspection device in which both a sheet feeding for a wide sheet and a side aligning of the sheets can be positively carried out and an accurate position setting can be carried out under any kind of sheet quality, various shapes, sizes and weights of the sheets. SOLUTION: There are provided a position setting guide 12 arranged along a sheet feeding direction; a conveyor 3 for conveying sheets one by one; and a core contacted with the sheet on the conveyor 3 so as to make a side alignment of the sheet toward the position setting guide 12. The core member is rotatably held within a core case. The core case has a slant angle which can be freely adjusted in a forward or rearward direction in respect to a running direction of the conveyor 3. The sheet is turned up to a side edge in a slant forward direction at a lower surface of the core, one end edge of the sheet is abutted against the position setting guide 12 so as to enable the position setting of the sheet to be attained in respect to a direction crossing at a right angle with the sheet feeding direction and the sheet is fed forwardly. Due to this fact, an inspection of detected printing may become accurate.
