PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cosmetic excellent in effect imparting natural gloss to hair, not sticking, improving to neaten hair, capable of preventing and repairing damage of hair and useful for hair rinse, treatment, etc., by blending specific compounds in specific amounts. SOLUTION: This hair cosmetic is obtained by blending 0.01-10wt.% water- insoluble polymer fine particles (component A) having >=0.2μm and <1μm average particle diameter with 0.001-20wt.% cationic compound (component B). The component A includes fine particles of a polymer such as a silicone resin, an alkyl methcrylate polymer and the component B includes a quaternary ammonium salt, a poly(dimethyldiryl ammonium halide) type cationic polymer, a copolemter type cationic polymer of a dimethyldiallylammonium halide and an acrylamide.
