<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a tape tension difference between tape traveling directions so as to provide a stable recording/reproducing characteristic by using tape packs different from each other in minimum diameter. SOLUTION: In a tape cartridge 10 for traveling an information recording tape 20 in a specified direction by traveling a driving belt 30, the minimum diameters of two tape packs 11 and 12 in use conditions are made different from each other. Thus, the changing rate of the tape pack diameter is controlled and a tape tension difference is reduced. The minimum diameters of the tape packs 11 and 12 are made different from each other by making, for instance, the outer diameters of two tape reel hubs 15 and 16 themselves different from each other or the lengths of non-recording regions in both end parts of the information recording tape 20 different from each other. Preferably, a minimum diameter ratio between the tape packs 11 and 12 is set within a range of 1/2 to 19/20.</p> |
