The invention relates to compounds of formula I or I: wherein R1 and R2 are independently, for example, an aromatic hydrocarbon, with the proviso that aromatic hydrocarbon is substituted in at least an ortho position, or R1 and R2, for example, independently from one another, are alkyl from 1 to 20 carbon atoms, which is substituted by R9R10R11Si, R2a is, for example, a bivalent aromatic hydrocarbon radical; R3 is alkyl from 1 to 20 carbon atoms which is substituted by R9R10R11Si, or is an aromatic hydrocarbon; R4 is, for example, alkyl from 1 to 20 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl from 3 to 12 carbon atoms, or phenylalkyl from 1 to 6 carbon atoms; E is R14R15R16P or R8R8aR7N; R7, R8, and R8a, and R9, R19, and R11, independently from one another are, for example, alkyl from 1 to 12 carbon atoms; R14, R15 and R16, independently from one another, are phenyl-substituted, and G is a radical which can form positive ions, with the proviso that if R1, R2, and R3 are 2,4,6-trimethylphenyl, R4 is not alkyl from 2 to 20 carbon atoms, nor alkylene from 2 to 8 carbon atoms. The compounds of the present invention are useful as particularly reactive photo-initiators.
