PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the repeater and system applicable to a transmission system of a nonlinear wave by providing an optical frequency shifter and a full reflection mirror reflecting an output light to return it to the optical frequency shifter. SOLUTION: Each center wavelength of a nonlinear pulse signal, optical time domain reflectometer(OTDR) signals and a supervisory(SV) signal is plotted on a transmission characteristic of an optical filter 4-3 as shown in figure. That is, a nonlinear pulse signal wavelength is arranged toward longer wavelength bands than a mean zero dispersion wavelength λo , and OTDR and SV signal wavelength bands are arranged toward shorter wavelength bands than the wavelength λo . A nonlinear pulse signal through an optical amplifier 4-1 transmits through an optical circulator 4-2, the optical filter 4-3 and an optical frequency shifter 4-4, is reflected in a total reflection mirror 4-5 and passes again through the optical frequency shifter 4-4, the optical filter 4-3 and the optical circulator 4-2 and then is emitted to a transmission line. Furthermore, the OTDR and SV signals pass through the optical circulator 4-2 and are reflected in the optical filter 4-3 and returned to the optical circulator 4-2, from which the signal are emitted to the transmission line. |
