An adjustable supporting apparatus supports a machine 100 on a worktable 120 and includes a pivot member 20 which has a sleeve portion locked releasably on the neck of a base member 10, by a vertical lock bolt unit 30, and a nose. When released, the pivot member 20 can rotate about a vertical axis on the neck. A sleeve member 40 is locked releasably on the nose by a horizontal lock bolt unit. When released, the sleeve member can rotate about a horizontal axis on the nose. A tubular unit 61, 62 is fastened to the sleeve member and has a passage into which a coupler rod 70 is inserted. The rod 70 includes a fixed rack 71 engaging a pinion 65 within the tubular unit, and a fixed ball 73 locked releasably on the machine 100.
