Electromechanical mute for cymbals, with padded tongs

The padded tongs (05) grip simultaneously over the top and bottom side of the cymbal (01). The acoustic impulse emitted by the cymbal when hit is registered by a motion-recorder (02) which passes on the control impulse to the control electronics (03) possessing a lifting magnet mechanically operating the padded tongs via the Bowden wire (04). The padded tongs are fixed to a holder (14) which at the same time fixes the Bowden wire by means of a clamp (16) and is mechanically connected to the cymbal by means of the cymbal-stand (13). A compression spring (15) holds the padded tongs mechanically in a non-engaging position.
