PURPOSE:To enhance sensitivity and durability of a photosensitive body by incorporating a specified azo type compound as a photoconductor in a photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive layer formed on a conductive substrate containing as the photoconductor one of the azo type compounds represented by formula I in which each of G1 and G2 is an electron attractive group composed of nonmetallic atoms, and each of Z1 and Z2 is a divalent group represented by formula II and III in which A is a divalent heterocyclic group or aromatic hydrocarbon group. It is preferred to use this compound for the electric charge carrier generating material of a functionally separated type photosensitive body and to form a charge transfer layer on a charge generating layer, thus permitting the obtained photosensitive body to be high in sensitivity, and small in deterioration of sensitivity and electrifiability due to repeated uses, and light fatigue. |
