The gas bottle receiving device includes a resting plate (3) for the gas bottle. This resting plate can be adjusted in height. There is a lifting device (4) by which its height may be adjusted. The lifting device may consist of a rotatable hand lever (7) which acts on a lifting element on the resting plate. A traction cord (40) may be used as the lifting element. If the lifting device is a lever, it may have a self-locking device. The resting plate may be L-shaped (30), fitting in a height-adjustable frame (1), with the cord attached to the upward-projecting arm of the L-shape and passing over a fixed-position roller (11) before being connected to the lever.
