<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new urethane compound expressed by a specific formula, excellent in curing ability, good in compatibility with a resin, capable of giving low-odor cured products, and useful as a photopolymerization initiator causing no bleedout of itself from cured coating films. SOLUTION: This urethane compound is expressed by formula I ([R] is a polymerizable group-free photopolymerization initiator residue; A is H or a 1-4C alkyl; (n) is 1 or 2), pref. a compound of formula II [R] is formula III (X is H or a 1-12C alkyl)}. The compound is obtained, pref. for example, by reaction of a hydroxyl-bearing photopolymerization initiator (esp. e.g. 1- hydroxycyclohexyl phenyl ketone) with isopropenyl-α,α-dimethylbenzyl isocyanate in the absence of solvent or in the presence an inert solvent such as toluene at 80-200 deg.C.</p> |
