<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformly obtain the smoothing effect of a main scanning direction gradient and an auxiliary scanning gradient by improving the smoothing effect of the main scanning direction gradient. SOLUTION: This electrophotographic printer is equipped with a printer controller 1 which develops print data from a host device and a printing part 7 which prints out bit map data developed by the printer controller 1. In addition, the printing part 7 has a laser beam scanning part 8 which scans with a laser beam and a photosensor 10 which forms an electrostatic latent image with the laser beam for scanning by the laser beam scanning part 8. Further, the laser beam scanning part 8 is equipped with a liquid crystal shutter 5 consisting of plural shutters for partially cutting off the laser beam with which the laser beam scanning part 8 scans. Besides, the printer controller 1 is equipped with a liquid crystal shutter control part 4 which controls the opening and closing of the liquid crystal shutter 5 based on the characteristic of the bit map data 5.</p> |
