PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new composition for an antiseptic agent for cleaning and preserving a liquid for a contact lens or that as a disinfectant by making three specific components coexist, each exhibiting no or only a weak disinfectant and antiseptic effects in separated use. SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by mixing (A) a surfactant, (B) non-reductive saccharides or polyols and (C) a chelating agent. At lest one selected from a group consisting of cationic type, anionic type, amphoteric type and nonionic type surfactant is preferable as the component A. At least one selected from a group consisting of a 1-O-alkylglucose, sucrose, trehalose, mannitol, etc., is preferable as the saccharide of the component B. At least one selected from a group consisting of ethylene glycol, glycerol, propylene glycol, etc., is preferable as the polyol of the component B. At least one selected from a group consisting of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, gluconic acid, citric acid, etc., is preferable as the component C. This composition is excellent in safety in living organisms. |
