PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a stabilized composition having a long pot life by mixing at least one hydrolyzable silicon compound selected among silylated vinyl copolymers, hydrolyzates of organosilanes and partial condensates of the hydrolyzates with a ketone compound. SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by mixing 100 pts.wt. hydrolyzable silicon compound comprising about 99.5-75mol% ethylenically unsaturated monomer (e.g. methyl methacrylate) and about 0.5-25mol% silylated monomer (e.g.γ-methacryoyloxypropyltrimethoxysilane) represented by the formula: RSiXn R<1> 3-n (wherein R is a vinylic group; R<1> is a 1-10C alkyl, an aryl or an aralkyl, X is a halogen or a hydrolyzable groups such as an alkoxyl; and n is 1-3) and having a molecular weight of about 3,000-1,000,000 with 0.5-100 pts.wt. ketone compound (e.g. methyl ethyl ketone) and optionally a 1-4C alkyl alcohol, about 0.01-10 pts.wt. curing catalyst (e.g. organotin compound), other additives such as a filler, an antifoam and a dispersant, and a solvent.
