<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to always form an image consisting of pixels of a multivalued gradation level in a satisfactory condition by exposing the pixel to light. SOLUTION: A photoshutter drive time detector 111 detects the drive time of each of photoshutter elements, and a photoshutter drive voltage control device 113 sets a photoshutter drive voltage VD based on the drive time and applies the voltage to a photoshutter drive device 104'. In addition, a photoshuter open/close time control device 115 sets a photoshutter open/close time in accordance with the set photoshutter drive voltage VD and the gradation level of a pixel to be exposed to light. Further, this photoshutter open/close time is inputted to the photoshutter drive device 104' as photoshutter open/close time change data. The photoshutter drive device 104' drives each of the photoshutter elements of a photoshutter array 103 based on the photoshutter open/close time change data. After that, an electrostatic latent image is formed on the surface of a photosensor drum, then is developed by a developing device 106, and the developed image is transferred to a recording paper 117 and discharged by a transfer/separating charger 107.</p> |
