<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to sufficiently set the weight distribution of a head, to expand a sweet area, etc., and to improve appearance by forming plural recesses of a honeycomb shape by forging on the rear surface of a face, thereby reducing the thickness of the face. SOLUTION: A head body 1 made of metal is projectingly provided with a hosel 3 which is the mounting part of a shaft 2 on one side and is formed with a face which is a ball fitting surface on the front surface. A flat surface 1A is formed in correspondence to the face on the rear surface of the head body 1 and the plural recesses 6 are formed relatively densely by forging on this flat surface 1A. Further, an annular projection 7 is formed at the edges of the flat surface 1A an a sole 8 is formed by the lower part thereof. A cavity 9 is formed by the inner side of the annular projection 7. The plural recesses 6 existing in the cavity 9 is formed to a regular hexagon with which the respective planes are congruent. The recesses are thus arranged to the honeycomb shape as a whole.</p> |
