A display device and a home network system are provided to receive EPG information from an external broadcasting receiver and transmit a recording command to the external broadcasting receiver in order to store a desired broadcasting signal based on desired EPG information. A display device includes a display module(110), a user input module(120), a UI creating module(130), and a controller(140). The display module(110) displays a screen image. The user input module(120) receives a recording command from a user in order to store a broadcasting signal. The UI creating module(130) creates an interface screen image on the display module. The controller(140) receives EPG(Electronic Program Guide) information from an external broadcasting receiving apparatus, controls the UI creating module such that an interface screen image corresponding to the received EPG information is created, and transmits the recording command to the external broadcasting device. |
