PURPOSE:To increase the processing speed in a line thinning operation, etc., by deciding the output data based on the value of the data on an area except the specific one and outputting the output data when an instruction signal is applied from a memory. CONSTITUTION:An arithmetic means 3 outputs its data when an instruction signal is outputted from a memory 2 so as to obtain a white or black center dot. Then the means 3 decides whether the center dot and its periperal ones are white or black with application of the signals which point the peripheral dots. The cells are formed in a systolic array and therefore the data D3 outputted from the means 3 is also applied to the corresponding cell of the next stage as well as to the cell contiguous to the corresponding cell, and the subsequent contiguous cells. Thus the line thinned data can be obtained from the cell as long as the line thinning data, for example, is stored in the memory 2. |
