PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To hold a work flexibly and easily for its cross sectional shape or its size. SOLUTION: Plural scroll bodies 47 are provided, on the end face of the chuck body 41 of a work rotating device on a frame, so that the scroll bodies are freely movable on the line from nearly the center of the end face 43 of the chuck body to the outer circumference and that they are adjustable for positioning. One end of the scroll arm 49 is freely rotatably supported on each scroll body, with the other end of each scroll arm provided with a catch 51 for holding the outer circumferential face of the edge of the work. The moving direction of each scroll body is so positioned as to hold the outer circumferential face of the end edge of the work by pressurizing with the catch. The catch of each scroll arm is engaged with the outer circumferential face of the work by moving the plural scroll bodies, with the scroll bodies fastened on the chuck in the manner that the work is pressurized with the catch of each scroll arm; therefore, the work is flexibly and easily held in a stable condition by being pressurized with the catch of each scroll arm. |
