[Class 144 (i).] In a vehicle wheel in which the hub and rim members are connected by wire spokes, each spoke has one side lying against at least one of said members and is secured thereto by a linear weld along its length. As shown in Fig. 2, the hub, comprising a member 14 and a mounting plate 15, and the rim, with a drop centre 11 having walls 12, 13, are connected by spokes 19, 20, preferably of curvilinear cross section, which pass through holes therein and have their protruding ends 21, 22, 22a, 23 welded to the members 15, 14, 12, 13 respectively. In a modification, Fig. 7, the spokes are welded to a flange 57 on the rim 56 and to flanges 52, 53 on the hub member 51. In further modifications one end of the spokes is welded to the hub or rim and the other end provided with heads engaging grooves in the rim or hub.
