The ski has reinforcing elements (10) that form edges and are fixed to a sheet of synthetic material (16). This forms the upper surface and part of the lateral walls of the ski. The sole (5), a lower reinforcing element (11) and two metallic edges (6) and are placed in the lower part (18) of a mould. The sheet of synthetic material and upper reinforcing elements (15) are placed in the mould and its lid (26) is closed. Components of an expansible synthetic foam material is injected into the space between the upper and lower parts, to form the core of the ski.
