The matrix band (5) is tightened around a tooth (7) during dental work using a hand held device. The device forms an automatically locking and releasable fastener with a small tongue-like shape that presses together the two ends (6) of the band. The hand held device has two jaws (1), which has embossed or grooved regions facing the opposite jaw. Similarly, at least one end of the band has a corresponding embossed or grooved region which engages with the grooves in the holder jaw. |
