<p>The proposed method and device relate to sports training. With the proposed method, the upper part of the spine is immobilised and the lumber region of the spine is then unflexed and flexed in turn as a defined load is applied to the muscles involved in these actions. This method of exercising strengthens the muscles in the lumbar region of the back, creates a correct physiological correlation in the muscles when the muscles in the lower part of the back can support a heavier load than those in the upper part of the back, results in correct posture and improves the flexibility of the lumbar region. The proposed apparatus is intended for developing and strengthening the back muscles and improving the flexibility of the lumbar region of the spine. To achieve this, an immobile support is provided for the upper part of the spine and a hand support connected thereto, for immobilising the upper part of the spine. Also provided is a mobile support for the lumbar part of the spine and pelvis, connected via a pulley system to a set of weights, together with a height-adjustable leg rest. Use of the proposed apparatus strengthens the muscles of the lumbar region, creates a correct physiological correlation in the muscles when the muscles in the lower part of the spine can support a heavier load than those in the upper part of the spine, results in correct posture and improves the flexibility of the lumbar region.</p> |
