The milling tool takes the form of a turning plate circular disc milling tool body formed with swarf spaces. It has cassettes (21) which have turning cutting plates accommodated in seats (27) and which in the area of the swarf spaces are accurately fixed as to position on the tool body. The tool has turning cutting plates (22,24,25) with at least one main or rough planing cutting surface. The cutting plates also have at least one auxiliary or smooth cutting surface. The cutting width on the main cutting surface of the turning cutting plate is divided into at least two cassettes (21a,21b) successively arranged in the direction of rotation with different cutting plate provisions.
