<p>There is described a method for the production of surface-coagulated pet food and feed for farmed fish, fur-bearing animals, birds and other animals, which is characterised in that the paste is made of by-products from the meat and/or fish industry and/or whole fish, plus some energy-giving meal, is heat treated at 100-200 °C for 5-60 seconds to apply to the feed a surface film of coagulated protein, the total heat supplied (time x temperature) being controllable when the buoyancy is adjusted in fish feed, whereupon the feed is cooled quickly after coagulation.</p> |
