<p>The electric element is switched on and off by a single switch (34) enclosed in a plastic or aluminium housing (21) at a corner of the appliance. The switch has a contactor (35) deployed in the "off" position by a spring. Two concentric cams (31,33) on a common axis (33a) detect the position of the element. The outer cam (31) is rotated by a ramp on the frame of the appliance. The inner cam (33) then actuates the contactor when a control knob on the housing is rotated in the same direction (F), turning both cams through an additional angle.</p> |
